Sunday is Family Day!  

  • Activities for Kids of all ages with fun ocean related activities and programs during the day .
  • Admission to these special Sunday Kids Day programs for children and adults is FREE! * Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Ocean Related Fun for Kids in 2026 includes:

  • Kids Room Activities 10AM – 2PM – FREE * Marblehead Room on the Second Floor (Access by ballroom staircase).
    • 10:30am-2pm: Traveling Tidepool from the Seacoast Science Center: Get up close and personal!
    • 10-10:30am: The Joys of Nature: Helping Endangered Species
      • Learn about endangered species around the world, including sea turtles, and what we can do to help them! Don’t miss meeting some special live animal guests during the program!
    • 10:45-11:15am: Atlantic White Shark Conservancy Sharktivities Event: Shark Myth Busting
      • Sharks-true or false? Learn some of what is really known about sharks and some of the stories that might not be true. Learn what scientists are learning about our local sharks. A great chance to ask your own questions about sharks.
    • 11:30am-12pm: Seacoast Science Center: Rescuing Marine Mammals
      • Meet an SSC Marine Mammal Rescue expert and learn about marine mammals, conservation, and how rescued animals are cared for during rehabilitation. Through a mock rescue, discover how rescues work and what to do if you encounter a marine mammal in need.
    • 12-12:30pm: Build your Own Fossil Shark Tooth Necklace with New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance
    • 12:30-1pm:  The Joys of Nature: Helping Endangered Species

  • Seashells from Around the World FREE* – Boston Malacological Club – Gloucester Room 2nd Floor
  • Interactive Aquatic Origami Exhibit -FREE *- Oak Room 1st Floor
    • This interactive exhibit features instructions for creating aquatic origami figures by Michael LaFosse and Richard Alexander (https://www.origamido.com/).
    • Michael G. LaFosse is an origami artist, papermaker, and author with over forty years of experience, inspired by the natural world and the work of Japanese Origami Grand Master Akira Yoshizawa. Richard Alexander, a Cornell University graduate, has a background in systems biology, landscape architecture, and environmental management. The two began collaborating in 1988 to advance origami as a fine art.
    • In 1996, they co-founded Origamido Studio, a teaching center, gallery, and design studio for original origami and handmade paper. Together, they have authored more than 70 books, kits, and videos, and their work has been exhibited in museums worldwide. This event is free and open to the public.
