Terry Dwyer has been working in the Canadian recreational, commercial and scientific diving industry for the past 35 years. In 1994 he founded the Nova Scotia Scuba Association. In 1995 his diving company was selected by Lightstorm Entertainment (James Cameron) to provide the Diving Support Services for the motion picture Titanic, parts of which were filmed in Nova Scotia. He has since worked on every Hollywood movie filmed in Nova Scotia. In 1997, in recognition of outstanding contributions to the principals of the sport of scuba diving in Nova Scotia, he was awarded The Sports Network (TSN) Spirit of the Sport Award. In August 2000 he and Mark Stanton of Divers Down Television co-produced the Nova Scotia Tourism video, Dive Nova Scotia.
In 2005 he was elected as a “Fellow International” member to the prestigious Explorers Club and published his first book; Wreck Hunter – The Quest for Lost Shipwrecks. In 2008 the book went to a second printing and in October 2015 he published his second book, Wreck Hunter 2 –The Adventure Continues, which sold out in just 3 months and has now gone to its second printing. He has authored, published and lectured on marine adventure tourism, shipwrecks and shipwreck diving, throughout Canada, the USA and the UK and is considered to be one of the foremost authorities on shipwrecks and marine adventure tourism in Eastern Canada.
He is currently working on several exciting new shipwreck projects, including a new TV documentary Series in development based on his books. Today, he and his wife Suzie operate Wreck Hunter Incorporated, a Spanish Ship Bay based shipwreck exploration and consulting company (www.wreckhunter.ca) and Shipwreck School (www.shipwreckschool.ca).
