Monty Fitzpatrick: 

Monty is co-owner of Scuba Shack Diving Services LLC based in Rocky Hill CT and friend of the Boston Sea Rovers.  Monty started his dive career working as a commercial diver for his father.  He is a PADI Course Director, Public Safety Instructor Trainer, and Technical Diver.  He started his Public Safety diving career with the Wethersfield Fire Department Rescue Company 2, after leaving the army. Monty is the head of the Scuba Shack Public Safety Division and has trained Public Safety teams from Pennsylvania to Maine.

Woodrow (Woody) Tinsley:

Boston Sea Rover, officer Woodrow Tinsley is a 19 year veteran of the East Hartford Police Department.  Woody is currently assigned to the patrol division as well as the Capitol Region Emergency Service Team dive team where he serves as the training officer.   A PADI Elite Master instructor Woody can certify divers in a wide range of topics.  Woody takes a “responder first” approach to all aspects of public safety diving.

Ed Hayes: “Procedures that Will Blow Your Mind.”

Ed is the owner of Evolution Scuba and has been involved in Public Safety Diver training or many years. Ed is one of the Public Safety Diving industry leaders in southern New England. He’s trained and supported more than 15 police and fire department dive teams, and continues to work with many agencies.

Captain Mike Dayton Region 5 Dive Team CT: “The In’s and Out’s of Grant Writing” 

Mike is a one of the senior leaders and divers of the Region 5 Dive Team in western Connecticut. Through his expertise in grant writing, Mike has been responsible for outfitting a 60-person regional dive team.  Along the way Mike has been responsible for a few rescues and recoveries as well.

 

Ron Weller: “You’ve Recovered the Body. Now What?” Ron is an Assistant State’s Attorney at the Office of the Chief State’s Attorney in Connecticut.  He has been a prosecutor for over 25 years, handling everything from quadruple homicides to ticket scalping.  He also is currently an adjunct Professor at Quinnipiac Law School teaching Criminal Procedure.  Ron is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer at Scuba Shack and has assisted in training Public Safety dive teams.

Sgt Pat Foley & Sgt Dan Popovich MSP “ The Capabilities of The Team” 

SGT Foley is the Massachusetts State Police Underwater Recovery Unit Commander and Certified PADI, SDI and ERDI Dive Instructor. Responsible for underwater search and recovery, underwater security sweeps, critical infrastructure security and safety, and passenger vessel security and safety.

Dr. David Charash “ Returning to Diving After A Dive Injury” 

Dr. Charash is the owner and principal of Dive Medicine and Hyperbaric Consultants LLC. He is a Board Certified Physician in Emergency Medicine, Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine and a Certified Wound Specialist. He has over 28 years of clinical experience in Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care, holding leadership positions in Wound and Hyperbaric Medicine as medical director in hospital based programs. Additionally, he is a certified and experienced Dive Medicine Physician, Certified Dive Medical Fitness Examiner and Hyperbaric Physician. He works work with the the Military Diving, Commercial Diving, Public Safety Diving Scientific Diving, and Recreational Diving communities.

Tim Andro: “Turning Training, Into Responding” 

Tim started in Public Safety as a Firefighter in 1999. Began Northeast diving in 2005, In 2008 became a D/M and Technical shipwreck diver. 2011 become a Public Safety Diver, In  2015 became an ERDI instructor and Mahwah Rescue Dive Coordinator. North Jersey Regional Scuba Taskforce V/P 2017 thru 2018 and currently the President.
