Hendrick, “Butch” Walt

Butch has been teaching diving since the 1960’s in all aspects from instructor training, public safety diving, rescue, and underwater movement. Butch, considered by many to be the father of diving rescue, introduced the do-si-do, in-water mouth to mouth, the rescue throw bag and many other procedures and equipment commonly used today. He has devoted his life to raising standards and keeping divers safe.
