In this two-part seminar, Nick Fazah, Co – Owner and instructor with East Coast Divers in Brookline, MA, will take you through an academic and in-water introduction to freediving. In the classroom, you will learn about the mammalian diving reflex and the anatomy of a blackout. During the pool session, you will learn proper buddy safety and practice techniques that are proven to extend your personal breath hold ability. Novices will be challenged to double their personal bests for breath hold time. For the pool session you will need your mask, snorkel and preferably a 3 mm wetsuit (full or jacket will suffice).
NOTE: This is not a full Freediving program and does not result in any certification. The safety covered is minimal and specific to this introduction. If you plan on freediving, it is advised that you complete a full certification course.
