Aerial Drone 101 for SCUBA Divers

I am sure you have seen those amazing “flying videos” and fantastic “bird’s-eye view” images and wondered, “How do they do that?  Can I do that? Is it hard?  Are they expensive?  In this workshop, you will get the answer to these questions and many others regarding drones and their uses.  Once the domain of the military and high-end industry professionals, drones have become available and affordable to the consumer market.

Join the Boston Sea Rovers as we present the Aerial Drone 101 for SCUBA Divers workshop by Bert Perry that will leave you with basic understanding on different types of drones, how they work and how they can be fun and useful tools for a diver, to get a different perspective on a dive site, the ocean and beyond.  You learn how to choose the right drone for you and your budget and feel confident to get out and start flying and shooting some amazing photos and videos.  We will touch on basic photography and video setups, the use of ND filters and post editing software, basic maintenance and specific operating and safety features to look for in a consumer drone.  You will also get to see a variety of different commercially available and custom-built models to understand what they can do, and not do.  Conditions permitting, we hope to have a chance to take the class outside for some actual flying too.
