Space Race Artifact Recovered by Advanced Deep Water Technology: Recovery of An Apollo 11 F1 Rocket Motor

The space race of the 1960‘s propelled the United States to the forefront of technology and innovation. Our lunar aspirations inspired generations and while many of the Apollo technologies have been surpassed, the F1 rocket motor stall remains the most powerful single chamber liquid fueled engine ever flown. Now lying in the deep ocean, only the most advanced deep ocean technology allowed the recovery of this space race icon. The recovery mission was funded to reignite the wonder of exploration, science and technology. Join us as we recount the expedition’s efforts aboard the most advanced offshore salvage vessel to recover an Apollo 11 F1 rocket motor from over 2 miles deep.
