Veteran divers may be looking to learn more about conserving the areas they have spent their lives exploring, while also not necessarily doing 5+ dives per day. Some dive locations also offer incredible snorkeling opportunities, where in the water time is not the limiting factor. The Oceanic Society, the oldest marine conservation non-profit in the US, has partnered with the MV Pindito in Raja Ampat, to create conservation programs for both divers and snorkelers, that also act to support conservation, research, and community development efforts that underpin long-term sustainable relationships between people and the oceans. These snorkel and dive programs are full of uncompromising underwater experiences, where both divers and snorkelers benefit from being in the heart of the coral triangle. When out of the water participants learn about the conservation of marine life in these surrounding aquatic reserves, and the threats of marine pollution and warming seas on tropical reef ecosystems.
